Wildcats May Madness, Hartford, May 21
The girls played two very different style games today, and our team was able to adapt to both styles and go 2-0. The first team played a very tough zone, and forced us to play an offense style we have not had to play all year (and havent practiced). It was a slower style game, and although it wasnt pretty to watch, we overcame and won.
The second team played us man to man, and were very agressive on defense. For the first time all year, I feel that we matched the opponents defensive intesinity. Both teams doubled teamed the ball handler, and I felt that most of the girls played very agressive defense which was a big reason for the win. We forced a ton of turnovers, and really forced mistakes. In addition, in both games, our rebounding was stellar. Often times, the other team had only one shot at scoring.
